Experienced Leadership with Families from Urban and Rural Communities

    Since 1987, Academy for Leadership & Transformation has provided services for families and
    tutored children from low to moderate-income levels all across the United States. Our programs are
    designed with the needs of the family and student in mind. Our flexibility allows the family to be involved
    while learning to use new tools to transform their entire household.

    ALT provides research based support around the areas of providing not only academics, but also social
    and emotional support. We assign nurturing and caring adults to work directly with students and families
    as they move forward in becoming proficient in the areas of reading, writing, math and emotional
    intelligence.

    We meet with the family to structure an Individualized program that will meet the needs of the student.
    In order to have collaborative communication we involve the schools to form a partnership so the student’
    s goals are met successfully.

    What Do We Offer?

    •        We use a blended Writing program “Write It” that has received National recognition for the
    accomplishment of its students at Thurgood Marshall Elementary. A literacy based curriculum targeting
    direct writing assessment state standards for schools.   


    •        We offer a math fluency program that takes students through a process of making math fun. This
    allows the student to contextualize math from the abstract to the concrete.

    •        We offer tutoring and skill attainment and development in any content area.

    •        We use an Affirmative approach to assist students and families in building a positive life style.


    It is desirable that students meet twice a week with their assigned academic/life coach in small groups or
    one to one. Meeting places are determined by the number of students participating in each geographic
    location.
