Mission Our primary goal is to assist parents further develop their leadership and planning skills to encourage more active and in depth parent participation in our schools and communities. We desire to strengthen the relationship among parents, communities and teachers to support and nurture higher academic achievement and life long skills among our children. Parent and caregivers play an important role in the social, emotional and academic success of their children. Working together the parents and School District can build a strong alliance that will encourage greater success in all area of our communities. It is our understanding that all children, as social beings, are capable of learning and practicing social skills and behaviors. In a world of shrinking social space and expanding social complexity with multi cultural expectations, it is imperative that families be given explicit training I the basic human relations principles and common cultural concepts. The Parent Leadership Academy welcomes parents, caregivers, and all who represent children in the Washington School district. Become an advocate for your family and community by participating in the free training and workshops offered by your school.
